About Us

CITE is a higher education representative and member driven body that works and advocates for the promotion of interests of entrepreneurial initiatives at the tertiary, higher education, and universities levels in various national and international forums. CITE has been conceptualised by Indo-American academic thought leaders to serve as the voice of the holistic higher education sector and aims to promote the development and recognition of quality in higher education in the country.

By Entrepreneurial Higher Education and University Ecosystem we mean to highlight the initiatives taken by private individuals and groups in the tertiary and higher education sector to establish institutions to contribute to India’s growing need of access to higher education, increasing the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) and improving quality of education through the partnerships with industry and other important stakeholders like the Indian Diaspora Leadership. While government institutions have their own platforms to raise their issues, CITE has been envisaged as a platform to represent the not-for-profit, charity, philanthropic, and other non-government academic institutions in the country. 

The organization works closely with the government and education entrepreneurs to ensure that the needs and concerns of higher education institutions are heard and addressed in policy making. CITE also collaborates with international organizations and associations to promote the internationalization of higher education and to enhance the global reputation of the sector. By representing the sector, CITE will play an important role in shaping the future of higher education in the country.
